Exercise & rehabilitation
Often when you’re injured or in pain, exercise is the last thing on your mind. But, like it or not, it’s sometimes the best way back to health and feeling pain free.
Our ESSA accredited Exercise Physiologists use exercise as a form of rehabilitation from injury, surgery, chronic illness and improving overall physical condition. We tailor exercise programs based on our client’s individual needs, which can be completed at home, in the gym or at your workplace.
The aim is to get our clients moving and improve their quality of life by making them fitter, stronger and healthier.
What is an Exercise Physiologist?
Our clinic offers Exercise Physiology sessions to assist with the treatment of a wide variety of injuries and chronic conditions.
Our ESSA accredited Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals with Medicare provider numbers and can receive referrals from your doctor for treatment on a Medical Benefit Scheme (MBS).
Active Recovery can treat patients privately, or provide treatment for WorkCover claims, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims and Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) clients.

We offer both individual and group sessions for veterans under the DVA scheme that are tailored towards each individual’s needs. Our team has extensive experience treating common conditions including back injuries, knee injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD).
Entitled DVA clients may also be referred for Exercise Physiology treatment with a valid D904 referral form.
Exercise Physiologists are trained in utilising the right forms of exercises for a variety of chronic disease conditions. Here at Active Recovery Clinic we have experience in treating a range of conditions, including:
- Respiratory issues
- Heart conditions
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Chronic fatigue
- Osteoporosis
- Cerebral palsy
- Plus many more
Our staff understand the limitations that these conditions can place on the individual, therefore we tailor individual programs to help our clients manage their condition. Our individual programs can be completed under supervision and at home, helping to form a major part of a patient’s rehabilitation program for many diseases, including various forms of cancer.
If under MBS for Type 2 Diabetes, clients can receive:
- $79.85 for one-off assessments for group classes, plus
- $19.90 for up to eight (8) group sessions
Our Exercise Physiologists are experienced in treatment for work related injuries and return to work plans. We understand no two injuries are the same, which is why we tailor exercise programs to help treat and rehabilitate towards return to work based duties.
This starts with an initial assessment focused on client’s functional capacity. We then design programs to assist individuals with their ongoing rehabilitation and return to work under public and private schemes (WorkCover WA and CTP claims).
Thanks to a largely sedentary 9-5 work life, our clinic sees a lot of many common office-based aches and pains including neck pain, headaches and back pain that can lead to low productivity levels and regular sick leave. To ensure people are feeling their best and minimising the risk of these common office-based injuries, we look at ways our clients can be proactive.
We are able to provide safe and professional advice to assist you and your team reach your best in all workplaces, minimising aches and pains to improve overall office health and wellbeing.
Our Group Classes timetable is currently under development.
